Liquid Computing Launches High-end Server Page: 1
What would you do with 80 Opteron processors in a box? Liquid Computing, an Ottawa-based start-up, has begun selling its high-end servers based on Advanced Micro Devices’ Opteron processor. The systems, called LiquidIQ, have room for as many as 80 Opteron chips in a 45.5-inch-tall rack-mountable chassis, and as many as 12 chassis can be linked together with a single high-speed communication network.
Liquid Computing were understandably coy about revealing the pricing for their monster servers, but a conservative estimate would put them in the ten's of thousands.
