Intel Launches Core 2 Quad Page: 1

Intel has officially launched the Core 2 Quad line of processors. These processors are based upon Intel's quick and efficient Core architecture. Intel launched the Core 2 Quad Q6600 which has a clockspeed of 2.4GHz and has a price of $861. This processor now sits at the top of Intel's mainstream processor line for desktop home users. Two new quad server processors, the Xeon 3220 and the X3210 were also launched. These two Xeon processors both have 8mbs of L2 cache. The 3220 runs @ 2.4GHz and is $851, while the X3210 is only $690 @ 2.13GHz. Intel has recently reclaimed the lead in performance processors with its Core 2 Duo line, based on the very efficient Core architecture.
