Intel have yet again released a quad core processor based on the "old" socket - LGA775. The Q9505 (sSpec: SLGYY) adds to the existing range of Yorkfield based quad core processors. It has a clock speed of 2.83GHz and a front side bus of 1333Mhz, matching the Q9550.
However, with only half the cache of the Q9550, at 6MB, this is where the difference lies. The processor has gone on sale in Japan for 22,700 JPY and is expected in the USA at around $210. Intel's website
also lists a 65W TDP part under the Q9505S name, much like the Q9550S.
