Three New Additions
Intel have introduced three new processors to their current line-up, and they are aimed at the low cost market:
The first is the 45nm Core 2 Quad Q8200, with a clock speed of 2.66Ghz, with a 1,333MHz FSB and 4MB of L2 cache. Retail prices are expected to be around US$224. This processor is the first to be announced within the new Q8000 series.
There's also a new dual core offering, the 45nm Core 2 Duo E5200. The E5200 comes with a clock speed of 2.5GHz on an 800MHz FSB with 2MB L2 cache. Retail prices are expected to be in the region of US$84.
Finally, for an ultra cheap option, the 65nm Celeron D 450 is available, with a clock speed of 2.2GHz on an 800MHz FSB with 512K of L2 cache.
We suspect these new processors may be as popular with overclockers as with budget PC builders. Discuss in our forums here.
