Graphics card manufacturer Gainward today introduced its powerful, custom-made version of the GeForce GTX 570 in the form of the “Phantom”. In the words of Gainward, the “Phantom” is the best graphics card offering “low-temperature gaming performance and low-acoustic-noise character, providing the most quiet sustainability and all-mighty performance capability.”
Gainward has designed the GeForce GTX 570 Phantom card from scratch. For starters, it has used high-quality-class materials everywhere in the card. There is a brand new thermal solution developed for the card, which Gainward has dubbed Grand-Prix Heat-Pipes Hybrid Cooler. The cooler features three 80mm PWM fans connected to six 6mm heatpipes on a copper base. 44 heat sink fins do an exceptional job of carting away whatever heat is produced by the GPU components.
The specially designed cooler allows the “Phantom” to run as much as 15oC cooler than the reference card – a 30% improvement in running temperatures. This makes the already factory overclocked card totally ready for further overclocking and tweaking.
In addition to the all new cooler, Gainward has also factory overclocked the 480 CUDA cores of the card to 750MHz against the 732MHz found in the reference design. The 1280MB of GDDR5 memory is a 320-bit wide one and has also been boosted to a massive 1950MHz. Then there is the shader clock that has been set to run at 1500MHz compared to the 1464MHz of the stock. Connectivity options on the GeForce GTX 570 “Phantom” include a Display Port, Dual-DVI, and HDMI.
Perhaps the best feature of the Gainward “Phantom” is its ultra silent operations. In 2D mode, the card runs at an astounding 4.9dB higher than the environment, making it almost indistinguishable. When compared to the reference card, the “Phantom” is nearly 58% quieter, which is far higher than most other cards on the market.
With so much good stuff under the hood, enthusiasts will surely be looking forward to the availability and pricing of the Gainward GeForce GTX 570 “Phantom” graphics card.
