Few RE5 Details Revealed Page: 1 RE5 Details Revealed
Last week, details about the next instalment in Capcom's Resident Evil series were posted on the gaming site Games Radar
. While the article was quickly taken down, Eurogamer
snagged the info and posted it up themselves.
Resident Evil 5 will be set in an unnamed African country near a series of volcanoes running through Eritrea, Ethiopia and Kenya. A number of characters from previous games will return, including Sherry Birkin and Albert Wesker. Bits and pieces of the plot will be revealed throughout the game in a number of playable flashbacks.
Perhaps the most significant of the leaked data is the fact that Resident Evil 5 will feature an online co-op mode, allowing people to drop in and take control of the so far unnamed female sidekick at any time. Not a whole lot to say about this, except that I'm sure there are plenty of gamers out there that will appreciate the ability to play along with their friends. If you're hoofing it along on your own, the extra character will be AI-controlled.
It was also revealed that the Mercenaries mini-game from the 4th instalment will show up in this game as well, tweaked of course. A new cover system was added, allowing you to hide behind walls and shoot around corners. In addition to this, you'll be able to duck down and dodge bullets using the right analog stick.
Resident Evil 5 is currently set to come out in the first quarter of next year.
Will this next instalment be able to continue the legacy of the Resident Evil series?
