Square Enix has recently filed for the trademark of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" in Europe and North America, leading many to believe this could be the title of Deus Ex 3. Indeed, this does appear to correspond with the underlying theme depicted in a short teaser trailer found on the game's website containing the quote, "Who we are is but a stepping stone to what we can become."
The third installment in the popular FPS action RPG series by Eidos Montreal was first announced back in May 2007, with the above mentioned teaser trailer also released late that year. Storyline-wise, the game is a prequel to the first two in the series. Set in 2027, the player takes on the role of private security officer Adam Jensen who gets involved in a conspiracy surrounding the bio-augmentation company he works for.
Gameplay is strongly centered on the player's actual skill, with the RPG experience/stat element mainly factoring into the types of augmentations and weapons one may use. Eidos have also implemented a stealth by cover system as well as an auto-heal ability similar to that seen in the Call of Duty games.
Deus Ex 3 is set to be released for PC as well as current-gen consoles. So far no release date has been announced, but with a possible name now on the blocks, it appears to be looming closer.
