Corsair Intros P128 and P64 Performance Series SSDs
High-performance memory manufacturer Corsair recently augmented its Performance Series SSD line with the addition of two new models. Corsair claims the two drives – P128 and P64 – offer class-leading performance at smaller capacities.
The two new systems boast of the same high-end technology as the more illustrious P256 Performance Series SSD including a Samsung controller IC with 128MB of cache memory and NCQ support. Both of these ensure the SSDs deliver uninterrupted, class-leading performance.
In terms of read/write capabilities, the P128 follows in the footsteps of its bigger cousin and features 220MB/sec and 200MB/sec read and write speeds respectively. The P64 on the other hand has read and write speeds of up to 220MB/sec and 120MB/sec, which while lower, are still among the best in lower-density SSDs.
“The high performance of the new Performance Series solid-state drives, combined with the inherent reliability and stability of flash technology, make them ideal for both new system builds and upgrades of desktops and notebooks,” said Jim Carlton, VP of Marking for Corsair. “These drives have also been extensively validated in a wide range of popular notebook computers, which means that you can upgrade with absolute confidence.”
While the P128 is already available with Corsair retailers and carries a retail price tag of £269.99, the P64 drive is expected to become available in July. Both drives come with a standard two-year limited warranty.
