Club 3D Launches Two Pre-Overclocked Radeon HD 5800 Series Cards Page: 1

Netherland-based graphics card manufacturer Club 3D today announced two new factory overclocked graphics cards in the form of the Club 3D Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 Overclocked Editions. According to the manufacturer, these special edition cards take the performance of the 5000 graphics cards series to a whole new level.

Club 3D has equipped the Overclocked Edition 5870 graphics card with 1024MB of super fast GDDR5 memory. The card has been factory overclocked to 875MHz core speed and 4900MHz memory speed. The Radeon HD 5850 card on the other hand features a 760MHz core speed with a 4200MHz memory speed. While the 5870 comes with 1600 stream processors, the 5850 has 1440 stream processors.

To ensure low noise levels despite the overclocking, Club 3D has installed a 4-Heatpipe custom cooling apparatus on both cards combined with an ultra-quiet 90mm fan. This keeps the cards cooler and quieter than their reference versions even when running the most demanding applications and games.

The appeal of the cards has been further enhanced by bundling them with the Colin McRae: DiRT 2 racing game. This allows users to not just get the latest Colin McRae game for free but also introduces them to the special enhancements and realism that Direct X 11 brings to gaming. Clubbed with the built-in ATI Eyefinity Technology that allows them to use up to three displays, the card and the game make for an amazing bundle.

Both cards have already hit retailers and are priced at $594 for the Club 3D HD 5870 OC Edition and $445 for the Club 3D HD 5850 OC Edition.
