Blu-Ray Disc Drives to Come Out in June Page: 1

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., also known as Panasonic, has just announced the upcoming release of a Blu-Ray optical drive for sale on June 10th. It will fit in a standard 5.25" drive bay and still be compatible with current DVDs, CDs, and also the upcoming 25GB and 50GB Blu-Ray discs.

Blu-Ray is a relatively new technology that allows discs to hold an immense 50GB of data.

This technology comes at a price though: 100,000 Yen, which is about $850! Matsushita will begin shipping these drives to various companies later this month. Article
