Beyond Good and Evil 2 Planned to be Grander
Michel Ancel has been discussing the next version of his popular game Beyond Good and Evil (BG&E); the designer and Rayman creator informed that the sequel will be on a much larger scale than the first one.
Ancel has used the 9/11 terrorist attacks as a primary inspiration for the game, which will be bigger, more interactive and more complex.
“It was a mix of a lot of experiences,” Ancel told All-Gamers. “It was a phantasm to create an adventure game, a universe too. It was the game I wanted to create for a long time.”
“There were a lot of inspirations: the Miyazaki universe, my own inspirations, politics and the media; the theme of September 11 – the CNN show with army messages and the fear climate. And it was a mix from other universes,” he added.
The story for the first BG&E game revolved around an alien invasion of a planet named Hillys, with the story being narrated by photo-journalist Jade and her uncle Pey’j. While the first part ended without a proper climax, the next part was not confirmed until Ubidays last year.
Talking about the first part of BG&E, which revolved around an alien invasion of the planet Hillys but ended on a cliff-hanger, Ancel said, “We could have finished the game, but we want BG&E2 to bring something to the videogame universe.”
While the creator is claiming a more complex and immersive part 2, there are no details available about the platforms or a confirmed release date.
