ATI Radeon 5700 Graphics Card Pictured Page: 1
ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Last week, we brought you the news that ATI's latest mid range offering was coming soon and in true fashion, some early benchmarks and images have appeared online. The guys over at mymypc.com
say that the card in the images is the mid range card, the 5750 (codenamed Juniper LE). Assuming that the numbers are correct then the 5750 will feature a total of 1120 stream processors running at 700Mhz and a 128bit memory interface for the GDDR5 memory that runs at an effective speed of 4600Mhz.
These figures translate into 1.57TFLOPS of compute performance and a theoretical 73.6GB/s bandwidth. These figures seem a little on the low side, especially when you consider the suggested price of this card - around £115, and compare that to the current low prices of the 4870 and 4890, however I suppose there are other benefits. The figures posted at mymypc show the card just edges out the 4850, 4770 and GTS250 in the 3DMark 06 and Vantage benchmarks.
The images show a very short PCB with a dual slot cooler, which isn't very pleasing to the eye. Rest assured though, give it a few weeks and the usual partners will have their own versions out with faster clocks and custom coolers, it wouldn't be normal otherwise. On the rear we find Dual DVI, HDMI and Display Port. This card is expected to retail for around £115 upon launch in mid-October.
