ASUS has come out with a new 24in LCD monitor especially for graphics designers and photography enthusiasts. Dubbed the PA246Q ProArt Series, the new monitor is precision engineered piece of technology that delivers the higher possible resolution and graphics clarity.
The PA246Q LCD monitor boasts of a native resolution of 1920x1200 in a 16:10 aspect ratio. The P-IPS panel with wide color gamut reproduces as much as 98 per cent of the Adobe RGB color space; this means the panel accurately displays almost all the colors present in photographs taken using professional DSLR cameras. There is also an sRGB mode which, when activated, displays images meant for web pages exactly as they can be seen online.
The monitor has a color display capacity of 1.07 billion colors, which is possibly the highest currently available for any LCD monitor. ASUS has calibrated the monitor to reduce color differences to Delta E less than 5 levels, effectively leading to the best color accuracy available for any monitor.
In addition to its awe-inspiring color capacity, the PA246Q also features ASUS’ QuickFit Virtual Scale technology. This exclusive technology lets users preview real size documents, photos, and grid formats on top of open windows through a single hotkey. This means users do not always need to print documents or photos to get an exact idea of their size, a direct and important saving in paper.
ASUS has also given the PA246Q a 1780 wide viewing angle so that users can enjoy distortion free images from every possible angle. The highly adjustable stand can be height adjusted up to 100mm and has 5°~+20° tilt, ±60° swivel and 90° pivot for portrait display. The actual monitor can also be easily mounted onto a VESA-compliant mounting device.
For connectivity, ASUS has equipped the new monitor with multiple ports including DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI and D-sub connections. There are also two built-in USB ports for instant file sharing and transfer, while a 7-in-1 media card reader makes for easy and quick transfer of photographs from a DSLR camera. Users can also user the monitor for multi-tasking through the picture-in-picture technology.
The monitor has started shipping out to retailers worldwide though pricing details are still awaited.
