Asus Delivers Crosshair IV Extreme Motherboard Page: 1

Earlier this month we had a look at things to come out of Asus with a sneak peek at the Crosshair IV Extreme motherboard.  Well now it's time for this beast to fully show its true colors as Asus officially announce this latest addition to the Republic of Gamers line.

Being the pinnacle of Asus' AMD AM3 lineup, the CH4 Extreme has to include something special.  In this case, it happens to be the first AMD board to feature five PCIE x16 slots and utilize Lucid's HYDRA Crosslinx 3 technology to allow users to mix and match not just two, but three different graphics cards for customized performance.

Another highly-touted draw of the board is the extensive control feature set.  The CH4 Extreme supports all levels of Asus' ROG Connect tweak controls, allowing users to adjust settings from remote computers, Bluetooth devices, and even Apple's iPhone.

Other features include the usual array of ROG overclocking options (multimeter test points, extensive heatpipe/heatsink chipset cooling arrays, various on/off/reset/overclocking buttons, etc) as well as a vast number of expansion and data transfer options.
