Apple TV gets 4X the capacity

Apple has increased the Apple TV's storage capacity.

Apple has upped the capacity of its Apple TV devices to 160 GB. This is four times the original capacity of 40 GB and allows the storage of up to 200 hours of video. Apple CEO Steve Jobs also announced a free YouTube plug-in at the D: All Things Digital conference in Carlsbad.

Although Apple TV's are currently selling in the hundreds of thousands, the additional storage capacity and further maturity of the unit could see that number increase significantly. According to the source article, the new 160Gb units should be available today for $400 while the older 40 GB versions will still sell for $299.
