Apacer address performance and cost issues of SSDs Page: 1 Apacer introduces combo SSD
"In order to address the performance and cost issues currently faced by solid-state drives (SSDs), Apacer Technology recently introduced a combo SSD equipped with both multi-level cell (MLC) and single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash chips.
Apacer indicated that the 2.5-inch combo SSD supports a memory density up to 96GB with 32GB of memory as SLC NAND flash and the remainder as MLC flash. The company stressed that the mixture could be adjusted in accordance to customer requests. The SSD operates as two individual storage devices after installation.
Apacer said the SSD targets notebooks and ultra-mobile PCs (UMPCs) but could also be adopted for server, industrial PC (IPC) and other applications."
Smart move Apacer. Let's hope the community supports the combo SSD's.
