According to DigiTimes, graphics card manufacturers have reported problems during the validation of the HD 5830 graphics card reference design. Apparently an issue with the circuit design has caused the makers' testing platforms to throw errors. AMD has thus decided to take the boards for their own investigation.
In response to this report, AMD has stated that the cards were in the hands of their customers for normal batch testing and took the no comment route for the reported issue. They also took the time to stress that no ATI cards currently on the market have any issues.
Originally set for release earlier this week, makers now expect the cards to go out no earlier than next month.
