MSI today announced the roll out of its new generation CX620 3D notebook computer, a system that combines impressive computing power with 3D display technology. The notebook is based on Intel’s latest Core processors and also packs a sizeable punch where graphics are concerned.
For starters, MSI has equipped the CX620 3D with a Core i3 / i5 CPU. A discrete ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card with 1GB DDR3 memory provides the processing power for the system. For memory, the notebook can has slots for DDR3-1066MHz modules and can accommodate up to 6GB of RAM. This gives the notebook more than enough juice for its 15.6” HD LED backlit display and the memory to handle even the most demanding of applications.
Based on the principle of circular polarization, the 3D graphics display throws up images that are true-to-life. When used with 3D glasses, the effect is at once stunning and highly enjoyable. The LED backlit display allows you to enjoy 16:9 theater-class viewing without the annoying black bottom and top strips.
The entire notebook is sheathed in MSI’s proprietary color film print that gives it a strong scratch resistant finish. The independent chiclet style keyboard and seamless touchpad made the CX620 a pleasure to use. As with all its high performance systems, MSI has fitted out the CX620 with its exclusive GPU Boost technology. So when needed, you can switch over from extended battery life mode to high performance multimedia mode at the push of a button.
Also on board the notebook is MSI’s ECO power-saving engine, which lets you choose from one of five power management levels – Video Game, Film, Presentation, Word Processing, and Turbo Battery, to automatically adjust display brightness, on/off switch, sleep mode, and processor performance settings, maximizing battery flexibility and use per charge.
For connectivity, the CX620 comes with one HDMI interface that can transfer up to 5Gb of video bandwidth and lets you display all your photos and videos to a large-screen in HD. MSI has clubbed eSATA and USB interfaces into a single port on the notebook, and also added couple of USB 2.0 ports to give you decent choice of connectivity options. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, a 4-in-1 card reader, and a 1.3MP camera round up the specifications of this highly loaded notebook.
Despite all these goodies, the MSI CX620 3D notebook weighs a decent 2.48Kg, which makes it an ideal mobile entertainment device.
