NVIDIA might have released its GeForce GTX 580 graphics card yesterday, but it has already caught the fancy of the gaming world. Gaming PC manufacturer iBuyPower is one of the first to jump into the fray - the company has announced that it is immediately upgrading three of its gaming desktops to accommodate the new GTX 580 card.
The three machines that will get the new graphics engine include the LAN Warrior II, the Paladin XLC (Extreme Liquid Cooling) - both existing systems, and the new Gamer Paladin F875. This latest system is a specially designed one, based on the Intel Core i7 950 processor. iBuyPower has supplied it with 6GB of DDR3 RAM and 1TB of storage space. The chassis used is the NZXT Phantom Tower chassis.
The Paladin XLC V2 is also crafted on the NZXT Phantom Tower chassis, though with a liquid-cooled Core i7 960 chip. It also has 6GB of DDR3 memory and 1TB storage capacity. The system also comes equipped with a Blu-ray reader / DVD combo. To make it a pure enthusiasts’ system, iBuyPower has supplied its Level 2 Power Drive Overclocking Service that can boost the overall performance of the Paladin XLC V2 by nearly 20%.
The third system - LAN Warrior II carries the same processor and memory as the Gamer Paladin F875. In addition, it has a blu-ray reader / DVD combo, 1TB of storage space, and a 64GB SSD. While the Paladin XLC V2 and the Paladin F875 work with an 850W power supply, the LAN Warrior II has a 1000W power supply.
Current retail prices for the Paladin XLC V2, the Gamer Paladin F875, and the LAN Warrior II are respectively $2,429, $1,859, and $1,899, with all three systems immediately available in upgraded versions.
