Super Talent & Toshiba SSDs

Super Talent and Toshiba SSDSuper Talent today announced their new Toshiba co-branded UltraDrive DX SSDs which offer two levels of security to prevent data theft and loss, password protection and automatic hardware data randomization technology, for the security conscious users out there. Available in the upcoming week,s the UltraDrive DXs use a Toshiba branded storage controller as well as Toshiba branded MLC NAND flash memory chips, which they claim offer sequential read speeds of up to 230 MB/sec and sequential write speeds of up to 180 MB/sec.

They are available in capacities of 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models, all featuring 128MB of cache and making use of the SATA 3.0Gbps interface. Prices are expected to range from $219 (£150) for the 64GB model, up to $1649 (£1050) for the 512GB model. Certainly not cheap, but fast and secure drives come at a premium.
