New firmware for OCZ SSDs
OCZ Vertex SSDIt is a common fact that early SSDs degraded over time, or as they were filled up with data, the performance decreased. OCZ have realised this and have been working on a firmware fix that will automatically "keep performance at peak levels". The background optimizer runs during idle-time to restore the SSD to its original performance, providing peace of mind for the entire life of the drive. In addition, these drives will fully support TRIM with the impending Microsoft Windows 7 release, making OCZ SSDs a future-proof investment. The new firmware should increase performance slightly, but more importantly increase the lifespan.
The new firmware is set for release tomorrow! Is it too late or has it just took a long time to perfect?
