OCZ Enters Mac Market with Twin Product Launches
The new Mac Edition Vertex SSD from OCZ
OCZ is taking the Mac market seriously; it has launched two new series of products designed and validated specifically for Apple's MacBooks. The products include the new series of Mac Edition Vertex SSDs and DDR2/DDR3 line of SODIMM memory kits for MacBook and MacBook Pro systems.

Similar to the PC versions with SATA 3.0Gbps interface and 64MB of cache memory, the 2.5in Vertex series is available in 30, 60, 120 and 250GB capacities. Depending on the model, the Mac Edition Vertex drive will provide read and write speeds of up to 240MB/s and 150MB/s respectively.

On the memory side, the DDR2 kits come in 2 and 4GB modules which work at 667MHz speed and 5-5-5-15 latencies, while the DDR3 kits work at 1066MHz and 7-7-7-20 latencies and also are available in 2 and 4GB modules. OCZ will be providing two year warranty coverage for the SSDs while the SODIMMs will be backed by a lifetime warranty.

I did this last christmas for the Mrs but built it into the drawer so you couldn't even see it (all on air). Worked ok apart from the warming wood smell when left to encoding movies so she now has a 900 case instead. Was good when used for low level stuff though.
