SSD plugs straight into the port
Japanese manufacturer Elecom have shown off it's nanoSSD range. Available in both 8GB and 16GB capacities, the drives measure 25mm x 39mm x 6.5mm they plug straight into the SATA port, useful for mini ITX builds where every square inch is at premium. However, the capacity may cause problems for most users wishing to install an operaying system onto the drive, Windows 7 reccomends atleast a 20GB hard drive for the 64bit edition, although for XP and Linux it will be fine.
Speed isn't great either, read speeds of 75MB/s and write speeds of 30MB/s. This is a staggering trade off in terms of performance, but

I suppose if you want a small drive then you will have to pay for the premium.
No expected pricing yet, or wether it will be avaible outside of Japan at all, but it is said to be arriving in Japanese stores in a few weeks.
