Corsair Boosts Performance with 256GB P256
Corsair has launched the first drive under its performance series SSDs with the 256GB P256. The new drive features highly improved read and write speeds.
Corsair fans were somewhat disappointed with the company’s first SSD offering – the S128, which offered read and write speeds of just 90MB/s and 70MB/s respectively. There were huge expectations from the company to live up to its high performance levels and Corsair has done just that with the 256GB P256.
The new SSD offers sequential read and write speeds of 220MB/s and 200MB/s respectively and features a 128MB cache coupled with a Samsung controller supporting Native Command Queuing (NCQ). In simpler words, Corsair has put together all the ingredients for “outstanding, stutter-free performance”.
Though impressive, the reported price tag of $750 might have something of a dampening effect on the launch.
