DriveStation HD-HXU3
Buffalo Technology have announced what they claim to be the first USB 3.0 based external hard drive - the DriveStation HD-HXU3. The drive is encased in a rather attractive glossy black shell, and comes in 1TB, 1.5TB and 2TB options, boasting transfer rates of up to 125MB/s, still a long way from the theoretical maximum rate of 400MB/s. These numbers are very similar to Freecom's USB 3.0 drive which was announced last week - also claiming to be the first on the market. It is good to see more USB 3.0 devices coming to the market, even if mass support isn't around just yet. Luckily Buffalo thought of this and have announced the IFC-PCIE2U3, a USB 3.0 controller card. No mention of pricing on any of the drives yet, and despite claiming to be the first to market, the release date is simply stated as the "fourth quarter of 2009", for both the controller and drives.

I like wires if i dont have wires i break things. Keyboard for eg... Falls of my leg, i grad the lead, mouse is the exact same. Aint going wifi dude on network, wired ftw, never a connection error, fast as you like and a simply plug and play near enough.wireless is all arsing about, doing this, fixing that. Standing on this... Losing signal there, it being better over here. I also like biomechanica looking things... Hence liking wires also. :p
Small update soon, maybe another monitor... :p

I agree, wireless is too much of an arse for my liking, be it internet, keyboard or mouse. End up spending yet more money on extra batteries for the latter 2 as well. No after trying wireless I'm firmly set on putting up with a few trailing cables to get the extra benefits of not having to reconnect and repair connections all the time.
Nice setup btw. ;)

I thought wireless was a good idea...
Moved network back to wired and brought a new wired keyboard and mouse about 2 weeks later.
20m patch lead = £4 ish
Wireless adapters and anti-stress theropy = a but load more :D
