I'd chose the Corsair HX over the Seasonic. They are essentially the same PSU but I found the modular system on the Corsair to be slightly more robust.
I think mains power testers are still quite expensive.
For power protection go for Belkin. Great products
Wow, I was just gonna order a ST60F. Thank god I didn't. Instead, I went with the Enermax Liberty 500w after two people told me they kick azz. May want to check that out. I can tell you how it handles my system when I get it, wednesday.

After around 15 months my Hiper 580W is still rock solid, how cant I recommend it :D
Just to add to Hyper`s comments, I`ve got 2 or 3 300 & 350W Hipers here that have outlasted 1 or 2 Abit mobos (5 years+).
This thread makes me want to cry:( I love Silverstone stuff. A while ago I saw a thread showing where each PS was made. I will try to find it and see if its any help.

2nd one gone too :eek: I had trouble with my first one, but the replacement has been rock solid. Bad luck anyway mate, but the Corsair HX that XMS recommended and reviewed is a solid unit worthy of the cash.my second ST60F is dead, newegg has offered me a refund
