Published: 10th October 2006 | Source: N/A |

Earlier, we brought you the news that Microsoft were intending to have Windows Vista ready for RTM (Return To Manufacturing) by late October or early November. According to online source - DigiTimes, this appears to have been fast tracked, somewhat. Microsoft are now expected to have the new operating system ready this month, before officially launching the product to business customers in November.
"Last week's release of Windows Vista Release Candidate 2 (RC2), or the build number 5744, has reduced the number of bugs from 2,479, which were found in the RC1 build number 5728 version, to 1,450" (DigiTimes, 2006)
This month, the number of bugs is expected to be further reduced to 500 or even below.

That's got to be the greatest idea ever, w00t! I imagine the read/write speed would be far superior to tape backup drives as well. Can't wait to check this stuff out.
Yeah I thought so too mate, and considering the cost :)
Impressive - but how do they react to shock - ie vibration, being dropped or the like?

Im a boxing fanatic, and have 2 x500gb hdd, and get scared if it crashes. i usually just buy another hdd as means of backup.

we need a price and mainstream release date. we should definately be trying to score one of these for review.

No solid release date was given, only that it will appear early 2007
I have a feeling that if the Blu Ray version comes out it won't do well because I think it will be very expensive because Blu Ray is very expensive.
