Microsoft Delays Virtual Server Release

Microsoft has officially confirmed that the first public beta of Windows Server virtualization – code-named Viridian, has been delayed until the second half of 2007. The reason given for the delay was that the developers are still tweaking scalability and performance changes.

“We’re designing Windows Server virtualization to scale up to 64 processors, which I’m proud to say is something no other vendor’s product supports,”
