Microsoft photo format

Microsoft have announced that they wish to take on JPEG with a new specification photo format.

Claimed to be better image quality than JPEG and lower file size too.

Called Windows Media Photo (WMP - confusion abounds) the format is claimed:

• Multiple color formats for display or print

• Fixed or floating point high dynamic range image encoding

• Lossless or high quality lossy compression

• Extremely efficient decoding for multiple resolutions and sub-regions

• Minimal overhead for format conversion or transformations during decode

This is shipping with all current versions of Vista

Specs and info are HERE

Depending on whether Microsoft charge for this or not: is this the photo format to take over as an industry standard??

So you can't fit a PCP&C 1kw in your case, and the recently reviewed Silverstone Zeus 750w is just a bit too much out of your price range...well maybe it's time you checked out Silverstone's Strider range....

(ooh, and they've got adjustable pots :D )
