but have one question.
i had to open up traffic to and from "explorer.exe" in the firewall for it to work.
is it safe or not to have "explorer.exe" on unlimited access to the internet ?

Yea that should be fine, its not really much different to allowing Internet Explorer.

sounds good as it was easy to use.
didnt work fast with my rather slow connection but uploading 300mb went very easy
only hope my sister manages to get it to work too.

well my computer incompetent sister iddnt had any trouble installing and configuring gmail drive and she thought it was a very easy way for us to send big files to each other.
and speed is great too so using it to share files on a bigger scale would probably work ok too.

well uploading files is pretty slow imo - we had a few big files on ours but they were pretty damn slow to transfer on
Downloadings pretty fast tho :)

uploading was waaay slow, wonder if they have made it any better since the days when we used to use it for...erm..stuff
well it maxed out my connection on both upload and download.
upload at roughly around 125kbyte/s which isnt that bad.

came across a nice little program called gmail drive.
it uses a gmail account as a drive and i have setup an account for it to transfer big files easy to my sister.
when installed and configured its drag and drop in explorer.
it is possible to use several gmail accounts too.
