Exclusive HD Crysis Nanosuit Trailer and 1 Level Demo September 25th

Crytek have released a High Definition trailer flaunting the various special abilities of the Nanosuit. This game is looking more and more promising.

Furthermore, you eager beavers wont have to wait much longer until you can get a sample of the game, EA release a demo consisting of the complete Contact campaign.

In Crysis, shooter fans will face a new kind of gameplay challenge requiring adaptive tactics and customization of weapons and armor in dynamic, hostile environments as mankind struggles to survive in the face of a horrific alien invasion. EA confirmed a singleplayer demo will be released on our fileserver network Sept. 25, consisting of the entire first level of the Contact campaign.

Soooo Samsung are going to raise the bar on Gfx memory performance.

Samsung Semiconductor Incorporated has just announced that the company has started mass producing its GDDR4 memory for graphics cards. GDDR4 is now JEDEC sanctioned and commercially “ready” for video card manufacturers. GDDR4 is the memory successor to GDDR3 -- both of which are unrelated to the JEDEC DDR3 memory standard.

The new GDDR4 memory has a data transfer rate around 2.4Gbps on a 32-bit bus. Samsung is shipping the new 80nm memory in 512MB configurations, which is likely configured in 16x32 layouts. Samsung also claims that this 2.4Gbps GDDR4 showed a 45% power savings when compared to 2.0Gbps GDD3. The reduction in power is clearly a welcomed trend.

"We're delighted that we'll be able to use GDDR4 from Samsung in our latest graphics cards,"."Samsung's timely introduction will increase the performance of our upcoming products and ultimately improve the gaming experience for our users,” claimed Joe Macri, ATI Senior Director of Engineering.

ATI is expected to launch its R580+ graphics card before the end of the year. This card is essentially the R580 (Radeon X1900) ASIC with GDDR4 memory – which was built into the R520 and R580 design from the start. NVIDIA has GDDR4 on its roadmap for the next generation GPUs scheduled for sampling this fall as well.

Samsung isn’t the only player in the GDDR4 market: Hynix just announced the company would completely refocus its DRAM efforts specifically on graphics memory. More importantly, Hynix has already announced its GDDR4 is running at 2.9Gbps – a feat Samsung would have to best if it is to stay the number one DRAM supplier.

I embargo DX10 till Bill "greedy" Gates ports DX10 for Windows XP. There is NO reason why DX10 shouldnt work on XP. Forget XP Home , at least do it for the XP Professional users. For people wanting to run Vista , it will be extremely expensive to upgrade since it basically requires a new "everything" .

I'm not sure if it's going that way now. MS has toned down Vista so much, it might as well be called XP SP4.

We may even see hacked version of DX10 hitting the net if there is no technical reason for it not to work on XP. We'll just have to wait and see i guess.

Cot damn! Big props to Hynix for stepping it up in the gfx memory world... 2.9gbps is just nuts, can't wait to see what kind of performance gains this memory will give us!

thats what he did, samsung is rated 2.4 and hynix claims 2.9gbps but nonetheless competition will only bring good things for us customers :)

Holy crap, GDDR4@ 2.9Gbps :yumyum: You can now see why ATI made the change to their Ringbus memory controller to take advantage of that insane kind of speed. I can't wait to see some benchies with those babies :worship:
