Today saw the leak of information regarding the spiritual successor the highly popular EA/DICE Battlefield franchise, the news relates to the tentatively titled Battlefield 3.
This information was apparently contained within a 3 page PDF document which is devised to entice investors to the series.
This new revision of the series promises an enhanced character building /unlocks element similar to that in Battlefield 2142 but set in a scenario akin to that of its earlier PC shooter sibling Battlefield 2 .
A tipster sent us PDF document which looked like an outline of features for Battlefield 3. The three page document is apparently prepared for investors which should get it by December of this year. It details basic features of BF3, and are as listed:

Agreed! It'll be more than likely a paper launch methinks, especially if AMD have yield issues like they have in the recent past.In all likelihood no flagship cards will appear until Jan possibly Feb 08.
Why?
The 8800GT is the 320mb GTS replacement. The 2950 is an improved 2900.
Currently the 2900 is better than the 320mb GTS, therefore 2950 is better than the 8800GT.
(If all goes to plan)
8800GT = G92, 8800GTS = G80-101 (present) ?
.. milking u guys for all the questions my mind is having tbh, so thanks for that ;)
Looking at facts, the 2900 isn't that bad, in some instances its an ultra, in others its a 320gts. Improvements on this core mean its an awesome mid range card.
That is my evaluation of the current rumours, sorry, information :p
Yea but im thinking the 2950pro will still be cheaper than the 8800GTS 640mb. The HD2900pro can be OCed and possibly flashed to XT speeds so it will make cookie crumbles of this pathetic card as well. Bring on the 9800GTX already.

No the 2950pro is looking like it will beat even the 8800ultra. http://www.overclock3d.net/news.php?/gpu_displays/amd_rv670_hd_2950_pro_specifications_and_pictures_leaked/1So in summary, the 2950 will beat the lowest highend nVidia card (at that point) - and not exactly "whip it`s arse" ?
Straight from our favorite site! Look at the specs man.

Meh, I didn`t see anything in there outside of what the AMD architecture is geared up to do.
As we all know, especially looking at 2 different architectures - amd/intel, nvidia/ati, mac/pc - what the clocks and etc say in the 2 different worlds don`t mean much to each other.
Plugged in and pitted against each other, that`s another thing. As long as the Ati/Amd cards only wipe the floor in a single field, ala Oblivion, I`d not be overly concerned.
Bet they are cheaper tho, targeted audience models vS price.

640mb GTS gets extra shaders.
The 2950xt will be better and should outperform current 640mb GTS and new 8800GT.
9800GTX or whatever it is called is due Dec/Jan IF the RV680 (ati flagship) keeps on track...
