XFX's First Power Supply Release
XFX are a successful motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, popular amongst enthusiasts. They have today announced the official release of their 850w Black Edition power supply. Boasting a bright acid green fan and connectors it is very unique, it's outer design also resembles the design of their graphics card shrouds, which are very industrial looking.
However, it's not just looks with this particular unit, it's high performance too. An 850w output at temperatures of up to 50°c is guaranteed, with efficiency of 88%, meaning it earns an 80 PLUS Silver rating. The power is delivered on a single 12v rail for even higher stability. All of the the usual cable that would be expected of such a high power unit are present, with a 20+4pin motherboard power, two 8pin power cables, eleven SATA power connectors, eight 4pin 'Molex' cables, two floppy power cables and four PCI Express 6/8pin cables to meet the Nvidia SLI and ATI Crossfire certifications it carries. The 135mm fan inside should
keep the temperatures in check whilst being quiet too.
Users will be able to find this product for around £150 upon release, which may be a bit on the high side, but it is a very unique power supply, not just a black box we have become used to over the years.
