Statistically speaking, if someone asked you to tell a number between 1 and 50000 you would choose one in the middle, right? So if you're 1 or 50000, your chances are even lower

every1 has the same chance of winning except those who cheat...
they have no chance as they get disqualified

However, in the case of Hi7 I didn't want the responsibility of picking (even be it via rand) so I passed it to Corsair for the honours

Thanks for clearing it up anyway! It made little sense, but thanks for the effortQuoteThe binary effect is the unofficial technical term referring to the discrepancy between different reported sizes for computer hard drives and other storage media. This happens because drive manufacturers measure a gigabyte as 1,000,000,000 (1 billion) bytes, while a computer measures a gigabyte as 1,073,741,824 bytes. For example, the Western Digital 500 GB SE16 has an exact size of 500,105,216,000 bytes. Although this is 500 gigabytes, in binary gigabytes this is only 465 gigabytes. This does not apply to CD-ROM media. It does, however, apply to DVD-ROM media. It also applies to hard drives, Zip disks, floppy disks, and nearly all types of flash memory.

That's in english! Anyhow it ends tomorrow, so good luck, and put on your lucky knickers.

As with many things on wiki, this isn't actually correct. In so much as it's explanation to how it ends as 465g. For many OSes this is because of the filesystem it's formatted to.
If u left the drive raw, or used some other formats, it would be alot bigger.
As to manufacturers being permitted to re-write the rules for kb, mb, gb, tb - yes it's a sad fact that they have been able to. For manufacturer reasons, they're now meant to be kib, mib, gib, tib - but afaic they can shove that up their arses.Quote

Come on Jim, my breath's been baited all day. If I die, I'm haunting your ass. Well, maybe just your comp. I'll cause random crashes just before you save and make every over clock unstable. Is that what you want Jim, iis it? Because that's what will happen if you dont draw a winner soon.Quote
Has pseudonym had to breathe yet (or has Jim died *hope not*)Quote
Quote
. It's not Jims fault, it's Icy Box they most likely havn't come in contact with the winner, or they have picked one, which turns out to be AntiheroUK so Jim is trying to figure something out to show that Anti isn't doing anything to make him win

QuoteMy mrs has a laptop with only 80gb of storage so it will be great for her and i have alot of videos, music and pictures myself. All i am wondering is will it act as a media server for my daughter's ps3 so she can watch her disney movies without needing to have either my pc or the other half's laptop on?Quote

With any luck you should have an email from Nathan @ Nanopoint. Just give him your details and I'm sure he'll get it shipped up to ya sometime next week

Incase you are wondering what the duct is... It's coming from my loft where i have a blower and is attached onto my case i made at work. Since i live in Scotland its quite cold outside so my loft temperature is usually very low. I will get water cooling one day but for now that will have to do.
Time to edit my sig.Quote

I used to sit my computer by the window and open it in the winter for super temps.
DanQuote
It's benefited me also as my friend's can send me stuff when my pc is off. One of my friends who goes to college had a usb flash drive that failed and he needed files taken to college that day, he just put his work on a folder i setup for him and got the files at college. I will be going to college soon and i'll probably have the same use as my friend instead of buying usb pen drives.
My friend is going to buy a NAS box for himself, probably the same version as he found it really useful.
I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking to buy some external storage and has some extra cash to spend rather than getting just a standard external device. The extra features the NAS has is really worth paying more in my opinion.Quote

It's great to know you've had so much good use out of it!
(probably more than I would have gotten out of it!)
DanQuote
Glad you like it so much.QuoteI've been in need of a NAS ever since I got rid of my file server (i.e.- a long time ago..) and I'd say that this NAS seems to fit the bill
