Wired and wireless networking innovator TRENDnet went to market today with their first of its kind 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter and the 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit. Dubbed TPL-401E and TPL-401E2K respectively, both solutions are industry leading and the fastest Powerline solutions currently available.

The Powerline AV Adapter is effectively a network adapter that works over traditional electrical systems – just plug it into any electrical outlet and you have a secure 500Mbps building-wide network instantly. If you have two adapters, you can plug one into your router and the other into any outlet on your electrical system to get instant high speed network access across the building.

Connecting the adapters to each other is also as simple as pressing the one-touch connect buttons on them. A total of 16 Powerline adapters can be linked to separate network devices in different rooms to set up a single network without any new cabling. Each adapter also comes equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port to provide a high performance wired network.

A simple and easy to understand LED display shows the status of each adapter for immediate troubleshooting while the 128-bit AES encryption ensures there is no chance of security interference. The Windows utility that is part of the package makes it easy to manage individual adapters.

The 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit is composed of two 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapters – meaning it is ready to start a Powerline network. The best part about the new Powerline AV Adapters is that any network created using these is totally free from network lags or from the interference with wireless networking signals that arise out of building walls.

“Despite early announcements from competing brands, TRENDnet is excited to be the first brand to actually launch these exciting new 500Mbps Powerline solutions to the market,” stated Pei Huang, President and CEO of TRENDnet. “This caps a tremendous year for TRENDnet; marked by: our 20th year anniversary, launching the first 450Mbps wireless router, and now being first to market with 500Mbps Powerline solutions.”

The 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter, model TPL-401E and the 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit, model TPL-401E2K will both start shipping on November 29. The price tag for the TPL-401E is $99.99 while that for the TPL-401E2K is $179.99.

Sadly I dont have an air brush to use, they dont seem to have any "can" versions available, or at least not that I can find. Though they do look very high quality in their product.

HOK FTW.

However if you are in the USA you can use Kustom Shop.

http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/

Their paint is almost as good as HOK (their clear isn't as clear but hey, it costs about 1/4) and they do all of the custom paints and pearls that HOK do.

You can get a cheap gun from Harborfreight tools.

I sprayed two cars with those. Believe the hype, they're as good as any. So cheap were they I didn't even bother cleaning them I just bought three on both occasions :D

Sand blaster.

And you can get a decent cheap compressor from Big Lots if you have those near you :)

I have a nice air compressor already, so that's a non-issue at least.

Oh heck dude. Get on it man. Krylon do some good enamels out there, but nothing, nothing beats the real thang.

I painted an entire Hyundai Tiburon using KS holographic flakes for $210 lol. Something nuts like 8 quarts of clear and all of the flakes, reducers and so on :D

Tom, you'd be the expert on this.

Is there any special guidelines to painting galvanised?

My brother in law used to have a wicked Chevy truck. He had the tailgate blanked and put in corvette rear lights but the paint all peeled. Something about using the wrong paint on galvanized IIRC.

Etch primer, but then normal primer over the top so the colour doesnt react with the acid base. All in one stuff is crap so its deffo better to go the two stage route.
