Newbury Racecourse this weekend is playing host to the United Kingdoms largest LAN gaming party and technology showcase, Insomnia 40.

Being the avid gamers we are we had to be there. However if you know anything about your favourite review site, you know we don't just swan along and report what went on. Oh no.

As you can see it's not just OC3D who are huge gaming fans, with the area surrounding the main hall looking like a Glastonbury for people with vitamin D deficiancy.

Thanks to the wonderful chaps at CCL Online we had a little exhibition space in which to work our magic. More of why we wanted a little bit of room in the next article.

I almost want to leap on the train and steal one of these away. That black and white combination is just gorgeous.

A huge amount of LAN gaming requires immense amounts of connectivity and bandwidth. It's like a networkers dream on this table.

Before the exhibition hall filled up we managed to grab these couple of shots of the two gamers favourites, Relentless Energy Drink and Pot Noodle. Who could want for more?

Lucky mofo. I am stuck with crappy DDR2 800MHZ ram at the moment. I could badly do with that ram upgrade. My case and PSU are good though. Im going to try and get a core I5 upgrade soon with 2x GTX480 , but it will take me 6 months to pay for it.Quote

Nice one with the prizes, was planning to go with some friends but half of them ended up having to work so we just thought sod it, who's there from ccl BTW?

Only just managed to check up on the i40 coverage. Great job Tom & Lasher - Enjoyed seeing an insiders view of the event! Tom sounds proper rough at the end!

Evening all, Terry Carr here,

Just a note to say thanks to the guys at OC3D. The new case is working wonders and with a few tips from Tom around my memory not being set up correctly, I now have a faster rig as well.

Rebecca is loving it and has asked if next year you guys might upgrade her pink one. Its hard to explain to a 7yr old that she has a slim chance but shes loving it all the same.
