Well Done Jack!

Jack Thompson Silenced? For those of you who maybe haven't heard of him, Jack Thompson is an American lawyer , and is the bane of the gaming industry. He has launched repeated high profile attacks on the gaming industry, and in particular the Grand Theft Auto series of games, due to his own Christian beliefs. He was even part of a legal team who tried to prove that GTA was responsible for 18 year old Devin Moore's shooting of  three US cops in 2003, and were acting on behalf of Moore's family.

It seems now though that the reputation he has earned is coming back to bite him in the bum, as he has just been disbarred by the Florida Supreme Court. This means that in 30 days time, he will be banned from practicing law in the state of Florida for the next ten years at least. It appears though that he hasn't taken the ruling laying down and he lodged a 4,500 word response in writing at the disbarment hearing, before walking out of the hearing before it had concluded. He was pretty scathing of the Florida Bar, and the disbarment process and eventually the reply ended in quotes from the bible.

The judge who presided over the hearing, Dava Tunis, has recommended to the bar that the disbarment should be made permanent and that Jack Thompson should also be fined $43,000. Thompson was eventually found guilty of 27 out of 31 charges of misconduct, arising when he was involved in the Devin Moore case. Despite the case being found against him, we are sure this will not be the last we hear of Jack Thompson.

You can follow the blow by blow account over at Kokatu. Do you think Thompson got his just desserts? Or can you see where he is coming from? Discuss in our forums here.

A couple of rather interesting item listings were recently spotted on the website for Australian e-tailer Austin Computers. These listings give tentative release timeframes for two new Nvidia GPU-based cards.

I think the 2G card is almost definately a x2 variety. Be strange for the x2 to have a GT300 in it as they`re generally 2 older gpus welded together.

GT350 however might just be a name, pfft who knows. Let`s see a proper comparison of x2 vS x2 tho when this comes out, rather than these silly x2 vS x1 tests :p
