Beat them if you dare!
Gigabyte, a leading motherboard and graphics card manufacturer, have started a new competition, challenging users to beat them if they dare in a global graphics card overclocking competition. The event coincides with the recent announcement of Gigabyte's latest family of graphics cards, the Super Overclock Series. Contestants from any part of the world are invited to compete against the top scores set by Gigabyte's very own, in-house overclocking team to win cash and prizes.
The champion of each round will receive $1500 cash. Second prize is a new Gigabyte GTX295 graphics card, currently the high end, dual GPU card from Nvidia. The third place winner in each round will receive a Gigabyte Ultra Durable VGA GTX285 graphics card, currently the fastest single GPU card from Nvidia.
As an added bonus, if any contestant that beats the benchmark score that has been set by the Gigabyte team will double his or her prize, meaning a potential $9000 USD and 12 graphics cards are up for grabs. What are you waiting for?
The first round of benchmarking is using a GTX 260, second round using a GTX 275 and the final round using two GTX 275s in SLI. You can use any brand of card, but must achieve the highest 3d Mark Vantage score and the highest Resident Evil 5 score.
