Fujitsu Rolls Out USB 3.0 SATA IC

Shipments of the first bridge ICs for the new high-speed USB 3.0 SATA interfaces have reportedly started moving out from Fujitsu Microelectronics America (FMA). According to the manufacturer, the new interface will make its appearance in devices sometime in December of this year.

Part no. MB86C30A brings together USB communication control circuits, SATA communication control circuits, and protocol control and command control circuits, all onto a single chip. This allows the IC and through it, the USB interface to support fantastic data transfer speeds of up to 5Gb/s, making it the fastest among USB 3.0 connection ICs.

This transfer rate is about 10 times higher than the speeds available with USB 2.0 interfaces. What it means is users will be able to cut down on the time taken to transfer bulky data from their systems onto an external HDD or vice versa. And with the Advanced Encryption Standard included in the IC, this transfer will be completely safe too. Now we can all look forward to some USB HDDs with high speed data transfer abilities.

Special tech have some multi layer jobbies for £2 and they imho are the best ones to get. Plain mesh in lets the annoying stick everywhere dust in anyways.
