AMD celebrate their 40th Anniversary

40 years ago to the day, Jerry Sanders and a group of seven fairchild engineers formed the company we know and love as AMD (Advanced Micro Devices.) Over 40 years AMD has gone from a second-source supplier merely working within the confines of other companies’ designs, to the innovative processor manufacturer that strives to keep competition alive and push technology forwards in the microprocessor industry.

We have captured these values in our Fusion business approach: a unique combination of integration, intimacy and impact. It's what got us here... and what we believe will sustain us in the years ahead. AMD's 40th anniversary is a testimonial to our longevity, our employees, our customers and our unique business approach. AMD at 40. The past is only the beginning. And The Future is Fusion.

To celebrate this big day AMD are giving you the chance to take part in two contests to win some excellent prizes.

The first contest is to create a short video of up to 60 seconds, wishing AMD a Happy 40th Anniversary. Let the AMD fanboy inside you out, and put together something special for AMD as three lucky grand prize winners will each receive a high-end ATI Radeon™ HD 4890 graphics card. That's not all, AMD are also giving away an ATI Radeon 4650 graphics card to forty first prize winners.

To enter the video contest you must upload your video to youtube and send the link to amdcontests@bitepr.com.

Last but by no means least we have the Photo Contest. Simply take a photograph depicting your love for AMD to be in with the chance of winning one of five AMD Phenom™ II X4 Black Edition processors and ASUS M4A78T-E motherboards.

To enter the photo contest email your photo to amdcontests@bitepr.com.

Before entering either contest it is advisable to read the Rules before sending in your entry.

Get your creative juices flowing and Good Luck to you all!!

X-540 has a control centre for volume etc and matrix button that turns stereo into 5.1 whereas the x-530 bass volume is on the subwoofer and the volume is on a speaker. annoying :p
