this is only the bios right? i mean, all the other asus software wont need to be for the rampage will it?
As said earlier the Maximus and the Rampage are almost the same. You can install the same chipset drivers, same RAID drivers and the same audio(if you use onboard).
Enjoy your Maximus 'Rampage' Formula :D
If you have any trouble either post here or MSN me.
Right, I am sure some of you know that the Maximus and the Rampage are pactically the same board other than the chipset.
Well, people have shown by a quick flash of the bios that the x38 and x48 are very much the same chip.
I have just now flash my Maximus Formula with the lastest Rampage bios allowing me to get at some hidden features high FSB and a some how keep a lower voltage.
Guide can be found here. Scroll down a little.
Enjoy! :)
did this flash as well. The BIOS screen is like a plane's cocpit! Great board though
I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. I was going to buy the rampage formula, but I can get a cheap maximus formula for about 150€ and that’s a really good price for that MB. I need an fsb of about 500 and more for my e6750 to go over 4 GHz. Do you think I can go so far with the maximus and the rampage bios or should I go for the Rampage instead? And how hot does the x38 chip get when you compare it with the x48 is there a big difference?
Thx for your help
I cannot guarantee but it is very very probable.
That maximus can easily get a FSB of 500Mhz with Dual cores.
I cannot guarantee but it is very very probable.
It depends more on the cpu than the board :D
I have another question, did you had any other issues with that MB since you’ we bought it?
Thx
