PowerColors new “PCS++” Radeon HD6870 is an upgraded version of their PCS series card, featuring a factory overclock running the GPU at 975MHz, with the memory running at 1150MHz, for an 8% performance boost.
With PowerColors “Platinum Power Kit” design; including specially selected components by Volterra, Poscap and Proadilizer, the card also consumes 5% less power than a stock HD6870, with improved overclocking headroom and stability under heavy loads.
The PCS in the cards name stands for Professional Cooling System, PowerColors custom cooling solution. The PCS is based around a 92mm fan and 3 heatpipes with a copper base, again improving overclocking capabilities.
The PCS++ HD6870 supports AMD Eyefinity Technology, allowing for quad-display gaming with a single card, as well as supporting DirectX 11. It also features AMD’s Accelerated Parallel Processing technology, improving performance in certain applications.
