PowerColor announce the new PCS+ HD5550 with GDDR5
Powercolor have today announced the most affordable GDDR5 graphics solution in the value segment, the PCS+ HD5550. Being a part of their PCS+ series, the card comes with upgraded cooling, featuring an ultra quiet 92mm fan, measured at less than 30dB under load.
The PCS+ HD5550 comes factory overclocked to 650MHz core and 900MHz on the memory. Equipped with 512MB of GDDR5 memory on a 128bit bus, the card supports data transmission rates up to 3.6Gbps, delivering a gaming experience never seen before in the value segment.
"This is the very first time we are bringing the PCS+ series to the value segment," said Ted Chen, CEO of PowerColor. "With superior overclocking ability and advanced GDDR5 onboard memory, the PCS+ HD5550 creates out-of-the-box gaming performance. This will bring this value segment solution a new level."
The cards have DVI, HDMI and VGA outputs and support both Eyefinity and CrossFireX.
Having been released today, the PowerColor PCS+ HD5550 should start to appear in the shops soon.
