New G92 Card On The Way

"NVIDIA has plans for another, more powerful G92-based card."

Search News

That's right, you heard correctly. Right on the heels of their extremely successful launch of the 8800GT, NVIDIA already has plans for a new card based on the G92 GPU.

The main attraction of this new card will be the 128 shader units, a full 16 unit step up from the current 8800GT. Seeing as the 8800GT is able to outpace the current 8800GTS, there a very strong likelihood that this upgrade will push the card card past the level of the 8800GTX, maybe even the Ultra.

The new card is being tentatively called the 8800GTS, which means it may be replacing the previously reported GTS revision.

This new 8800GTS is slated for release in December of this year. Considering how soon that is, there is a very real possibility that current 8800GT cards also sport the extra shader units, disabled for marketing purposes. This quick release is likely NVIDIA's way of combatting AMD's impending HD3800 (RV670) launch.

as you can see.....i loooooooooove Lian Li cases.....:D :D

the spec of the budget PC :-
Lian Li PC-7 Plus
i've completly forgotten what PSU it was, but it was a OK'ish one, blue and quiet....
Asus P5K-VM
2GB Tekheads Value Ram
1GB Corsair TwinX (from my Rig)
70GB Maxtor HDD (from my spares)
IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE E2160 CPU, but its now D805 from my old rig.....read on to see why!:D :D

when i was busy building my bro new comp, he came into my room, asked what speed the new comp is, i said CPU is 1.8Ghz and 3GB of ram...
he then said '' what?! 1.8GHZ???!!! my old one was 2.1GHZ! thats slow! ''
i said '' stop complaining, its free! what do you expect? ''
he said '' whats the speed of that one? [point to my HTPC])''
i said '' 2.66Ghz ''
he said '' why is your OLD ONE faster than this NEW ONE?? its rubbish!''
i said '' ok.....i'll give you the quick one then ''

he then smiled, left my room and i had one of those moments where i dont know if i wanted to laugh or cry...:D

as i was using some old parts from my HTPC for his new comp, i just did the right thing of swapping CPUs

You are one nice brother. And lucky you, getting the Core 2 Duo. I bet you it would out perform the 2.66Ghz chip anywhoo. :)

lol, i only have 2 bros, and thats all i am ever going to get in this life, what better than getting a great family eh?

but he is one dumb fool....:D :D :D :D even if hes my bro or not i had to say it.....MUWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA:D

i'll see how this little chip goes, the HTPC and the new comp has nearly the same spec, i basically tried out parts in my HTPC first, and then decided what parts to get for my bros comp.

HTPC has same Mobo, same Rams but has a 7900GTO for GFX and Raptor for HDD. i guess in stock form both are pretty much the same....

thanks for the comments tho!
cheers!
