MSI has joined the legion of graphics card manufacturers who have released the new ATI Radeon HD 5830 card with its own version. The move makes MSI the fourth company to introduce the HD 5830, which AMD has only released to its GPU partners.

Dubbed the MSI R5830 Twin Frozr II, the new card features MSI’s revolutionary Twin Frozr II Thermal Design Cooler. Supplemented by dual 8CM PWM fans and four heat pipes for efficient head dissipation, Twin Frozr II keeps the HD 5830 card as much as 12o C cooler when compared to the reference design. It also makes for highly silent operations even under extreme conditions.

MSI has also thrown in HI-C Caps and Solid State Chokes to enhance the appeal of the card. Except for these additions, the manufacturer has not made any changes in the reference card, which features an 800MHz core clock, 1GB of DDR5 memory clocked at 4000MHz, and 1120 Stream processors. DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs complete the specifications.

On the whole, the new card from MSI is pretty much the same as the cards from competitors; only its actual performance and reviews will show whether it stands apart. The MSI R5830 Twin Frozr II card is expected to ship out soon, though its pricing is yet to be announced.

Hey OC3D peeps!

I'm Craig, aka Recoil, and im from the UK; a bit more specifically, the South West.

I love computing, im doing a degree, and also love most technological gadgets. I like to make music using Fruity Loops Studio, although im not that good - i mainly do it for entertainment. I like sports, and most manly kind of things :D

I own a Dell :o Laptop, which i've owned for nearly 3 years, it does the job well. I would love to have my very own desktop in my bedroom, but there is a little dilemma.

Thats it from me,
