Mass Effect Lead Writer back at Bioware

Drew Karpyshyn, Lead Writer of Mass Effect (2) and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, is back at Bioware. Karpyshyn left the developer a few years ago to work on his Chaos Born novels, he states on his personal blog. “Now that the trilogy is finished, I’ve decided to come back into the fold.”

“Working at BioWare was a challenging but very rewarding job, and it’s good to be back as part of the team,” states Karpyshyn. “The thing I missed most about BioWare was the amazing people I got to work with, and luckily for me many of them are still there! I suspect a lot of folks are going to wonder if this means BioWare is about to announce a new project tied to my return. The short answer: no. I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR and – at least for now – that’s what I’m focusing on again.”

If you have any questions for Drew Karpyshyn, you’re in luck, as he will be doing an ‘Ask Me Anything’ on the /r/Fantasy subreddit. That’s not all, though. Karpyshyn announced that he’ll post a blog update regarding a contest for anyone who posts a question to his AMA soon. All the more reason to ask him, well, anything. Drew himself is very humble about it all, and states: “Free stuff and the chance to talk with a living legend! What more could you ask for, right?”
