ATI's next gen looking speedy?

According to Fud, ATI/AMD's next gen GPU's are going to eclipse the performance of the current gen and be twice as fast.
Now this is said to be in best case scenario's, but that's certainly good news as the current gen aren't total slouchers.

RV770 as it is being called currently could be the card to get next gen...we'll have to see

Better be good for the games futur`s sake, players have been w8ing ages for this.
I've seen pretty much all of the first two MGSs but never played them much myself so don't know the ins and outs of the story... Ya reckon I need to know it to play the new one and actually understand it?
