Zotac ION ITX Synergy Editions
Zotac ION ITX Synergy PlatformsZotac are now very well known for their mini ITX platforms, often favoured over others for their good features and prices. However, with the "demand for small form factors increasing" according to Carsten Berger, marketing director of Zotac, and "the future of computing will be mini-ITX platforms" two new Synergy platforms have been introduced to the market, catering for the lower end of the scale.
The ION ITX-E makes use of a single core Intel Atom 230, whilst the ION ITX-G makes use of a dual core Intel Atom 330, both clocked at 1.6GHz providing more than enough power for simple tasks like web browsing, office productivity and emails. Both boards are based on Nvidia's ION chipset, including the 9400M IGP, two DDR2 memory slots, a PCI express x1 slot, four SATA ports, 10 USB ports and gigabit ethernet.
So, as you can see, not a lot to differentiate these two between the current ION boards, although they are still the solid basis for a HTPC with HDMI and DVI out and onboard 8 channel audio, or even just a cheap computer for basic office usage, the possibilites are endless. They are designed to be the lowest in the range, so pricing should be around £100 for the dual core model and £80 for the single core model.

I am loving the interesting tech going on here.
I wonder how good they are for gaming.
They could be utilised extremely well for mmorpg games.
Loving the first one. :)

Some great shots there.

Some things a bit spooky looking, but they are ofc prototypes 'n stuff.

Althought the look of it is weird, I do like the idea of that globe thing mapping ur hand. That has a load of implications for gaming, but also virtual hand control of stuff like robot arms.
