OC3D Press Release
Thermaltake Technology today announced the world’s first AMD Quad FX platform ready chassis series, Armor Extreme Edition and Kandalf Extreme Edition series. These two chassis series are co-developed by AMD and Thermaltake to support AMD’s latest and technologically advanced AMD Quad FX platform, which is a 4-core, dual-socket processor configuration uniquely designed with Dual Socket Direct Connect Architecture, designed to exploit the latest multi-threaded applications delivered on Windows Vista Ultimate and to further enhance the gaming experience.
Thermaltake has worked with AMD during the development phase of this high-performance gaming chassis, which is reengineered specifically to support AMD Quad FX platform by providing both structural strength and maximum thermal efficiency. Maximum cooling capability is achieved by implementing Dual-Channel Air Guide that forces cool air from outside of the system directly to each of the two CPUs; thus, decreasing the CPU temperature tremendously and keeping the relative ambient temperature inside the chassis at the minimum at the same time. In addition, two 120mm and two 90mm ultra-quiet fans included provides unmatched airflow within the chassis to remove heat generated by processors, graphic cards and other heat sources.
Exceptional structural engineering allows the Armor Extreme Edition and Kandalf Extreme Edition to take on all of today’s most advanced graphic cards, storage devices, liquid cooling systems and more. Eleven 5.25” bay drives, six 3.5” hard drive bays allow users to achieve maximum flexibility when upgrading. “Thermaltake’s main business model has always been to deliver the most compelling and technologically advanced product to our customers,” said Joseph Lin, Director of Global Strategic Marketing Group at Thermaltake. “With Armor Extreme & Kandalf Extreme Edition chassis, we’ve re-engineered the world’s best-selling gaming chassis specifically for AMD Quad FX platform. AMD Quad FX platform along with Thermaltake Armor Extreme & Kandalf Extreme Edition is able to take advantage of the latest enhancements in the upcoming Windows Vista Ultimate and for megatasking PC enthusiasts and power-users who run the most demanding tasks simultaneously.”
