It looks like the well-connected people of HKEPC Hardware has once again managed to get their hands on one of AMD's future roadmaps, and this one yields some very interesting sights: the quad-core. We see AMD has 4 different CPUs set to come out. I'd say the "Greyhound," set for the first half of 2008, is of the greatest interest to us, wouldn't you?. HKEPC Forums

DVD-RAM is a type of DVD disc which holds about 9gb instead of the usual 4.7gb (i think)
nope, dvd-ram is basicly one big "floppy" disc at the normal size.
the "9gb" you think about is dual layer dvd's.
dvd-ram was created to compete with dvd-rw discs and can be written over 100.000 times.
it should work just fine with no drivers.
or switch ide-connector.
sometimes windows cant handle hardware changes properly.
Raven thanks for the correction..
although it is a DVD-RAM disc im pretty sure it should still be able to play normal dvd's.
yes it should and with no drivers installed either.

it is normal for it to display like this, mine shows as dvd-rw drive.
when you insert a disc, you may not have autoplay turned on, either way can u access the disc by going to my computer and clicking the drive to explore its contents?
what disc are u trying to use? a dvd film disc? cd? data disc?
